Beck Legal fully supports the Accreditation system of the Law Institute of Victoria.
We encourage and support staff to seek accreditation in their chosen fields. We presently have solicitors who will be seeking accreditation as an assessment program becomes available in their relevant area of expertise.
Beck Legal has two Accredited Specialists:
· Geoff Bowyer - Business Law
· Ken Gilchrist - Environment and Planning Law
Specialist accreditation is available to members of the Law Institute of Victoria only.
The specialisation scheme aims to benefit the public and the profession in three ways:
- offering the public and the profession a means of identifying solicitors with expertise in particular areas of practice;
- providing an incentive and an opportunity for solicitors to reach and maintain higher levels of competence in their chosen areas of practice;
- encouraging improvement in the quality, speed and cost-efficiency of legal services.
The scheme operates by conducting assessment programs to identify members who have special competence in particular areas of practice. The scheme also supports accredited specialists in maintaining or adding to their skills and knowledge through continuing legal education activities.
